Here are my two new babies...

 Here's the "new" car with the new house... Purvi got me a 2002 Acura MDX Touring Edition. It's got this huge lcd screen that's begging to be converted into a video playback screen... Like this guy...

  And here she is in her new (at least to her it's new) 2003 Acura TL type S. Comes with goodies like navigation and heated seats. As you can see, she's pretty excited....

 
  

Purvi: Good-bye old car...

 Purvi says good-bye to her first car, as we drop it off at one of my co-workers home. His 16 year old daughter will be the new owner of the "slightly" used car.

Updates... Finally!

 
  The brick is finally up! And the city FINALLY approved us for drywall, and so now the house it really going to shape on the inside. Outside is about done; landscaping is left. Anyone know any good landscapers? How about the underground sprinklers?

Here's my computerized version of the house. I tried to get it look as close to the real deal as possible. I'm still working on the roof planes, but all in all, I think it's a pretty good preview...

It's been a while...

I know, I know... it all still looks the same. But trust me it's not. The electrician and plumber are all up in there doin' their thang. Pretty soon the drywall will be going up, so we're in the middle of picking all of the little things that should be in before that happens. E.g wall sconces, light fixtures, outlets, etc. It's nuts how much little stuff is involved in building a home. So, for now... thanks for stopping by.

Shingles, baby...

  The shingles are up... lookin' good... the windows are in as well... now, it's bearable for the workers (and ourselves) to spend some time walking around the new house... Everything's lookin' good...

The roof... The roof... The roof is on fire...

... well, no, not really on "fire"... but it's going up... this is it... framing is done, and we start working on the stuff that makes a house shine... The roof is going up... Here is what the new set of shingles will look like...

Also, we're starting to look into the interior stuff. I just bought a 10' projector screen to install into the cieling of the master bedroom. The cabinets are currently in the process of being picked out. But the two fireplaces are bought... we're going to put a 2nd fireplace in the wall between the master bedroom and the master bath... that should look insane...

If you guys have any suggestions, or mistakes you made while building your house... get at me... I'd like to learn from your mistakes...
